GitHub has expanded its secret scanning capabilities to include validity checks for 45 additional token types across more than 30 providers. This update significantly bolsters security for developers by verifying the authenticity of exposed API keys and tokens, mitigating risks of unauthorized access.

Newly supported tokens include those from CircleCI, Fastly, and SendGrid, among others. Major platforms like Checkout.com, Doppler, and Heroku are now integrated into GitHub's scanning system, offering developers an additional LAYER of protection against credential leaks.
